Description: E. T. Russell Sardine Factory was purchased by Calvin Stinson, Sr., with partners Jones, Lester and Henry Wass in 1920. Stinson bought them out in 1927 and ran the business until his retirement in 1982. His sons, Calvin Jr. and Charles continued the sardine packing business until 1990 when it was sold to Richard Klingerman and Woody Harris.
Description: Stinson Canning Company in Prospect Harbor, Maine as it looked before it was destroyed by fire on May 9, 1968. This building was replaced with another on the same site.
Description: Portland Packing Company in Unity, Maine. Parent company of the Stave Island Lobster Factory in West Gouldsboro, Maine. The workers in this factory processed upwards of 300 tons of corn in a single season. The packing company wagon was part of Unity's Centennial jubilee and drawn by "plumed steeds" bore samples of the corn shop's products. (DownEast Magazine June 1989.)
